Off-White™ presents the VULC 779
Off-White™ debuts the new VULC 779, the last sneaker designed by Virgil Abloh, inspired by and dedicated to the global skate community. The shoe speaks volumes to Abloh’s dedication to skate by incorporating key design elements to protect the shoe as it comes into contact with the board. This sees a special focus on the toe cap, heel cup, and sole across all four colorways: Black-Black, Army Green-Blue, White-Beige, and Dark Grey-Ice.
The new sneaker takes its name from 815/779, the area code of Abloh’s hometown of Rockford City, Illinois, near Chicago. And the ethos behind the VULC 779 stays equally close to the brand’s democratic roots: "We’re making a global community regardless of the elitism or sort of territorial-ness that can happen in subculture." This is reflected in a global launch conceived solely around skateboarding and community.
The VULC 779 will travel the world ahead of the official drop, kicking things off at Selfridges in London with a month-long pop-up where guests can book skate lessons before heading to Four Amsterdam, the Dutch capital’s renowned streetwear spot, for a takeover of the store’s Skatecafe with reimagined skate ramp. The VULC 779’s final destination is END. in Milan, where an immersive experience dialogues with local skate culture and community.
Available from Selfridges in London July 11-August 8; Four Amsterdam July 18 - August 18; END. Milano July 25-August 25, and globally from www.off---white.com, Off-White™ stores, and select retail partners worldwide starting September 2024.
